As you are aware, we are under a Red Flag Warning for extreme fire danger due to high winds and other atmospheric conditions. SCE has issued a Public Safety Power Shutdown (PSPS) warning for the circuits that feed our area. This PSPS warning began at 3:00 a.m. this morning and will last until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7th.
I fully expect this shutdown will occur and will be of an indeterminate duration. Anza Electric Cooperative (AEC) will be attempting to maintain our microgrid feeding downtown Anza for as much as possible and will also try to supply other circuits throughout the day as safety and capacity permits. We will be updating our Facebook page and sending messages via our messaging system as more information becomes available.
In the event of an outage, the Anza Community Hall will be open and available to the public for shelter, water, and electricity for charging personal devices. This public service is free of charge to all in need.
Thank you in advance for you cooperation and understanding, and please stay safe during this event.
Kevin Short, General Manager, AEC.
